RAMADHAN IS LIKE.. The Much Awaited Vacation...

RAMADHAN IS LIKE.. The Much Awaited Vacation...

Ramadhan is like the much awaited vacation.

You look forward to it, plan for it, and when it passes, you plan for the next one.

It is reported from some of the Salaf (Muslims of the first three centuries of Islam) that they used to pray to Allah during the six months before Ramadan to extend their lives so that they can fast Ramadan, and in the 6 months after Ramadan they would ask Allah to accept their fasting of Ramadan.

RAMADHAN IS LIKE.. Taking a Picture

RAMADHAN IS LIKE.. Taking a Picture

Ramadhan is like taking a picture.

You want to capture only beautiful things, from the best angle possible.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “The five (daily) Salat (prayers), and from one Jumu’ah prayer to the (next) Jumu’ah prayer, and from Ramadan to Ramadan are expiations for the (sins) committed in between (their intervals); provided the major sins are not committed”.

RAMADHAN IS LIKE.. Running a Marathon

Ramadhan is like running a marathon…

You train yourself months before it, and during the marathon, you challenge yourself to do more than you think you can.

Umm Salamah narrated:

“I did not see the Prophet fasting two consecutive months except for Sha’ban and Ramadan.”

RAMADHAN IS LIKE.. Going on a Camping Trip

RAMADHAN IS LIKE.. Going on a Camping Trip

Ramadhan is like going on a camping trip.

You leave all the temptations and all the unnecessary things behind.

It’s a trip of survival for the future.

‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar (May allah be pleased with them) reported:

Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) took hold of my shoulders and said, “Be in the world like a stranger or a wayfarer”.

Ibn ‘Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) used to say: “When you survive till the evening, do not expect to live until the morning; and when you survive until the morning, do not expect to live until the evening; (do good deeds) when you are in good health before you fall sick, and (do good deeds) as long as you are alive before death strikes”.

RAMADHAN IS LIKE.. Preparing for the Big Exam

Ramadhan should be like preparing for the big exam…

All the sleepless nights, and the constant duas.

Narrated Abu Huraira:

I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) saying regarding Ramadan, “Whoever prayed at night in it (the month of Ramadan) out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven.”

Sahih al-Bukhari Book 31, Hadith 1

Di-NO, I'm Fasting (I'm Reading Quran)

Don’t waste your time during Ramadan, read Quran!

“Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) was the most generous of all the people, and he used to reach the peak in generosity in the month of Ramadan when Gabriel met him. Gabriel used to meet him every night of Ramadan to teach him the Qur’an. Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) was the most generous person, even more generous than the strong uncontrollable wind (in readiness and haste to do charitable deeds).”

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported:

When any one of you gets up in the morning in the state of fasting, he should neither use obscene language nor do any act of ignorance. And if anyone slanders him or quarrels with him, he should say:” I am fasting, I am fasting.”
